The object of Christian Action Network (CAN) is to link together social action activity, enabling a pooling of resources, experience, expertise and ideas, so that:

• every church/organisation, however small, will be able to build on their current experience and expertise to continue to meet the needs of the communities around them and so that churches and organisations have greater access specialist help.
• the support offered to communities by the Christian community will be unified and effective, and gaps in provision can be identified and plugged.
• churches richer in terms of people and money can share with those harder pressed.
• churches can comment collectively from their experience on social problems and their underlying moral causes.
