Hello, I'm Hannah Batchelor. Married to Dave, we have a daughter, Grace. We are involved in church planting with an initiative called Urban Expression. I have been involved with UE since 1998 and was part of a church plant team/church plant in Stepney, East London for 6 years. Dave and I moved to Manchester in Oct 2004 to become part of a team in Newton Heath on the estate where I grew up. Grace was born in Dec 2005.
We have been taking things very slowly but things are starting to formulate now. We have bought our house on the estate and are developing good friendships with our neighbours. Methods we intend to use to bring 'shalom' to the estate and see the kingdom extended are; community survey/focus groups = discovery Bible groups, detached youth work, supporting people in debt, developing mutually supportive friendships, partnering with local churches, attending baby/toddler groups, breastfeeding support, parties and BBQs!
We see this as a long term 'investment' and we hope that through our commitment to become part of the life of the community that people might be drawn to pursuing their own journey towards discovering a relationship with Jesus and be able to express and grow their faith in a way that is culturally relevant to them.

Other things I about me: Studied theology at Liverpool Hope (94-98), worked with excluded young people at the Gap Project, Bethnal Green(2002-2004),  worked for M13 youth project for 6months (2004/5), Studied for Master's in Urban Ministry at Spurgeon's College. I work one day a week for Christian Action Network (CAN).
